Short-lived portraiture for the era of the Social Web. This interactive piece plays out the self-foregrounding dynamics of the social web in a physical installation.
An over head camera tracks visitors as they walk through the exhibition space, looking for groups and identifying the individual who is at the focus of that group. Once identified, a second camera captures their face and begins to draw a large portrait on a sheet of paper hanging on the wall, behind a grand frame. Once complete, the portrait only remains for a moment before the system identifies another individual and scrolls the previous portrait out of view to begin the next drawing.
